Gaming-Tipp: Das “Humble Indie Bundle” – Gaming und Charity verbinden und dabei sparen! (+English version)

Nicht alle Mädels, die für einen Modeblog schreiben, verwechseln den Anschaltknopf des PCs mit der Taste für das CD-Laufwerk.
Als passionierte Zockerin lasse ich mir natürlich kaum ein „Humble Indie Bundle“ entgehen!
Erstmal für alle, die es noch nicht kennen: Das Humble Indie Bundle (HIB) ist, wie der Name schon sagt, ein „bescheidenes“ Paket von Spielen, meist hergestellt von kleinen Teams, die von großen Entwicklern wie EA unabhängig sind.
Es gibt aber auch besondere Aktionen und bei einer habe ich sofort zugeschlagen. Auch die Großen der Spieleindustrie lassen es sich nicht nehmen, ihre Spiele im HIB anzubieten. So entschied sich EA, tatsächlich unter anderem Battlefield 3 in so ein bescheidenes Paket zu packen. Das gesamte Paket mit 10 unterschiedlichen „EA Games”-Spielen gab es für unter 20€. Zu der Zeit kostete selbst Battlefield 3 schon 40€! Der Erlös von über sieben Millionen Euro wurde dann an Non-Profit- und Charity-Unternehmen gespendet.
Jede Woche gibt es ein neues Indie Bundle mit mindestens 4 verschiedenen Spielen. Und hier kommt das Besondere: Du entscheidest, wie viel du zahlen möchtest. Sei es ein Cent, ein Euro oder eintausend Euro. Auch den Empfänger des Geldes kannst du aussuchen. Es kann die Child’s Play Charity sein, ein Verein, der Spiele verkauft, Livestreams macht und Merchandise anbietet, um beispielsweise Kinderkrankenhäusern zu helfen, oder aber auch die Website von HIB selbst. Auch dem Developer kannst du das Geld geben. Oder du hilfst einfach allen Parteien.
Weil viele der Spiele entweder Cross-Platform sind oder HIB sowieso mit jedem neuen Bundle andere Plattformen hinzufügt, kann ich viele meiner im HIB erworbenen Spiele auf dem iPhone, meinem Android-Tablet oder natürlich meinem PC spielen.
Wenn du also beim nächsten Humble Bundle auch ein paar super Spiele abkassieren möchtest, kannst du mehr als den aktuellen, stets neu errechneten Durchschnittspreis aller Käufe zahlen, um noch weitere Spiele neben den im Grundpaket angebotenen Games freizuschalten. Der Durchschnittspreis ist selten höher als fünf Euro. Ich jedoch zögere nicht, auch ein wenig tiefer in die Tasche zu greifen. Ganz nach dem Prinzip: Zahle so viel, wie es dir persönlich wert ist – das kennen wir ja bereits aus einem bekannten Lokal im Berliner Stadtteil Prenzlauer Berg. Dort zahlt man für das Essen und Trinken so viel, wie es einem gemundet hat.

First off, for the ones who don’t know anything about the Humble Indie Bundle (HIB) yet, it is exactly what the name is indicating. A “humble” bundle of indie games. Or at least you can say it’s mostly independent games, developed by small teams which are uninfluenced by the big companies in the gaming industry.
However, there also are special offers – offers my gamer heart couldn’t resist. Even Big Boy EA didn’t miss out on the chance to offer their games on the Humble platform – a once-in-a-lifetime experience . 10 different EA Games like Battlefield 3 were sold for below $20! At that time, Battlefield 3 already cost $40. In the end, more than five million US Dollars were collected and donated to non-profit and charity organizations by EA.
Every week a new Indie Bundle with at least 4 different games is released. And here is what’s so special about it: You pay what you want. It can be a penny, a dollar or even a thousand dollars. You can even decide who will get your money. Be it the Child’s Play Charity, a gamer association that does livestreams and sells games and merchandise to help child’s hospitals or even the HIB itself. You can also support the developer with your humble tip. Or you just support everyone!
Because most of the games are cross-platform, I can play many of the games I bought on HIB with my iPhone, my Android tablet and even my computer! The platforms also shift with every bundle.
So if you want to get a bunch of awesome games with the next Humble Bundle, feel free to pay more than the current average price from all transactions made this week and you’ll be rewarded with a bunch of more games and their respective soundtracks! Usually, the average price doesn’t surpass about $7, however I never hesitate to pay more than that of course! This interesting payment concept has already been employed by rock star Bon Jovi who opened a restaurant in the USA with no prices on the menu because the customers pay as much as they want.
