Das Backyard Berlin – ein versteckter Club in Kreuzberg 61 (+English version)

Das Backyard am U-Bahnhof Prinzenstraße – Kreuzberg 61- ist wirklich nicht leicht zu finden. Zum einen ist es ganz gut versteckt und zum anderen ist dort nicht immer Party. Wann und wo da was los ist, bleibt geheim. Nur wer die Zeichen lesen kann, erfährt es (…Facebook).
Doch wer es erst mal gefunden hat, der wird es lieben. Nicht nur, dass die Tür verhältnismäßig leger ist, nein auch drinnen ist alles der hammer, auf eine spaßige, ironische hipstermäßige Art. Das Backyard wird nämlich von Kunststudenten geleitet und betrieben. Das heißt, die DJs machen ihre Musik selber und das Publikum ist echt cool drauf. Hier trifft Szenetyp auf Hipster, Austauschstudent auf Eingeborenen.
Das Backyard ist relativ klein mit 2 Dancefloors, aber es hat es echt in sich. Die Floors sind spartanisch eingerichtet aber mehr braucht man auch nicht. Hier kommt es nämlich auf das Wesentliche an, die Musik! Neben den Floors gibt es natürlich auch eine Toilette und eine Chillout-Area, in welcher ein wenig Kunst ausgestellt wird.
Die Garderobe und die Bar sind fusioniert und haben darüber hinaus auch noch etwas gemeinsam, sie sind absolut erschwinglich! Geht vorbei oder schaut rein, ich tue es auch (aber sagt es nicht euren Freunden, sonst wird der Laden noch cool…). Ihr findet hier sowieso Neue.

The club Backyard at the U-Bahn station Prinzenstraße in Kreuzberg 61 cannot be easily found. On the one hand, it is well hidden and on the other hand it’s not always party time there. When and where a party is held, usually is kept secret. Only those, who can solve riddles, will know… or just take a look at the club’s Facebook page.
However, if you have found this establishment, you will love it to pieces. Not only are the bouncers pretty casual and laid-back, but what is going on inside is awesome, fun and very hipster. No wonder considering the fact that the Backyard is run by art students. This means that the DJs tend to make their own music and the entire audience is pretty cool as well. Here you can meet hipsters, tourists and exchange students and of course real Berliners.
The Backyard is relatively small, equipped with two dance floors, but seriously… Both are incredible. The floors aren’t what you would call well furnished. But there’s no need for decoration. After all, it’s all about dancing your ass off and therefore the music is what counts. Apart from the floors, there are of course toilets and a chill-out lounge, which is a refined with art.
The cloakroom and the bar have been merged. At the same time they have another crucial similarity: They are both pretty cheap. Well, the Backyard is definitely a club worth exploring. Don’t just walk past the rather run-down looking facade of the club. Just fucking go in. And don’t share your experience with your friends. Here in Backyard, you will make new friends anyway.
