Must-See: “A Day To Remember” – Der ultimative Klassiker der Hardcore-Szene! (+English version)

Die amerikanische Post-Hardcore-Band wurde 2003 unter Frontmann Jeremy McKinnon gegründet und ist weltweit in der Hardcore-Szene ein absoluter Klassiker und ein Must-Hear. Jeder kennt sie. Viele sind erst durch sie auf alternative Musik aufmerksam geworden. In den USA hielten sie sich 2010 sogar acht Wochen auf Platz 11 der Charts.
Und nun ist es also wieder so weit: am 2. Februar treten sie zusammen mit Every Time I Die in der Columbiahalle auf. Die Tickets sind knapp. Vor einem halben Jahr gelang es mir leider nicht mehr, eins zu ergattern und so musste ich auf den Auftritt dieser grandiosen Band verzichten.
A Day To Remember zählen zwar als Post-Hardcore, jedoch ist ihre Musik in vielen Fällen sehr massentauglich und verkörpert Pop-Punk. Ich kann euch prophezeien, es lohnt sich hinzugehen! Die Jungs sind der Hammer. Vor allem ihre ruhigeren Songs haben es mir angetan. Solltet ihr Interesse haben, schaut doch einfach mal auf ihrer Facebook-Seite vorbei. Ein Fazit zum Konzert wird es selbstverständlich geben.

The American post-hardcore band was founded in 2003 by their frontman Jeremy McKinnon. It’s definitely a classic in the worldwide hardcore scene and a must-hear. Seriously, they are extremely famous. Many people just became aware of alternative music thanks of them. In the USA they even reached rank eleven in the charts, keeping their position for eight weeks in 2010.
So now it’s time again: on February 2 they are going to appear on stage with Every Time I Die in the Columbiahalle. The tickets are extremely coveted and of course limited. Half a year ago I did not succeed in getting more than one ticket to their concert and that’s why Iwas forced to give up on it.
A Day To Remember counts as post-hardcore. However their music is related to pop punk in many cases due to the pop elements in their songs, which indicates that their music is not too unconventional. Trust me, it’s absolutely worth going there! These guys are awesome. I especially love their slower songs. If you are interested, just visit their facebook page.
