Kunst im Fokus: Graphic Days – Auswertung des Ausgestellten (+English version)

Und wenn ich es auch anpreise, ja dann muss ich da wohl auch hin! Also machte ich mich mit Unterstützung meiner abenteuerlustigen Mitbegleiterin auf, die Graphic Days zu erkunden. Noch bevor wir sie betraten, stellte sich schon das erste Hindernis in unseren Weg. Wir fanden das richtige Gebäude nicht! Und das bei gefühlten -50°C. Obwohl dick in Kleidung gewickelt, wurde es echt kalt als wir das komplette RAW-Gelände absuchten und uns keiner der dortigen Angestellten sagen konnte, wo wir hin müssen. Grade als Gequengel aufkam, von meiner Seite vorrangig, fanden wir jemanden, der sich als ortskundig genug erwies, uns in die komplett andere Richtung zu schicken. Und das war unser Glück, denn nun sahen wir die großen Plakate, die wir von unserer Position aus niemals hätten erspähen können.
Fast erfroren standen wir nun drin und spürten die herrliche Wärme, welche von einem Ofen verbreitet wurde und mich meine Finger wieder bewegen lies. Als wir dann am Schalter die 3€ zahlten, konnte es auch schon losgehen. Und naja, es war kleiner als erwartet aber seine 3€ durchaus wert. Während an den Wänden und teilweise an Säulen oder Schnüren mitten im Raum überall Bilder hingen, gab es hier und da Live-Künstler. Sie malten, zeichneten und werkelten was auch immer vor unseren Augen und wurden von einem neugierigen Publikum beobachtet.
Wobei das Publikum meiner Meinung nach eine eigene Ausstellung verdiente, so extrovertiert, modebewusst und kreativ sahen sie aus, besonders was die Haarpracht anging. Rauschebärte, Undercuts und coole Klamotten, wohin man auch sah. Dazu kam ein Live-DJ, der selbst sein bester Tanzpartner zu sein schien und es sich nicht nehmen ließ als einziger zu seiner Musik abzugehen, sehr schön 
Aber wieder zu den Bildern. Hier gab es wirklich vieles: Von Stencils mit politischer Aussage über Graffiti bis hin zu Öl- und Aquarellbildern, welche einfach nur schöne Landschaften oder junge Frauen darstellten. Die einen oder anderen Künstler erkannte ich sogar, denn sie stellen 24/7 und kostenlos ihre Werke auf den Galerien der Berliner Straßen und an Häuserwänden aus. Aber so gerahmt kam das Ganze auch gut an. Natürlich konnte man Drucke auch erwerben, deren Preise zwar etwas überzogen aufgefasst werden konnten, aber durch die Signatur des Künstlers wieder eine persönliche Note bekamen.
Als wir dann noch einen Pult-Pork-Burger aßen, der wirklich vortrefflich schmeckte, muss ich mir eingestehen, dass Berlin kunstmäßig echt was zu bieten hat…auch wenn ich hoffe, dass die nächsten Graphic Days mehr Raum bekommen.

The Graphic Days – I had the chance to visit this event! So, I decided to discover the art works together with my adventurous companion. But before we could reach the place, there was already the first obstacle waiting for us. We just couldn’t find the right building! Although we wore like thousand layers of clothing, it seriously got colder and colder while we were walking through the whole RAW-campus. Even the employees there couldn’t tell us the right way… After a while we became really stressed out, especially me, but finally, we met someone who seemed to know the place; and who sent us right to a totally different direction, which was actually our fortune. Finally, we could see the big posters of the Graphic Days!
Now, we were standing inside, almost frozen to death, and could feel the amazing warmth coming from the oven, making my fingers movable again. Then we paid the three bucks and the party could start! Well, it was smaller than we had expected but everything was worth the € 3.00. Amid the room, on the walls, on the pillars or cords, you could find many pictures. But there were also live-artists. They were painting, drawing and putting around to a fare-three-well. Everything was observed by a curious audience.
I think the audience should have got their own exhibition. They all looked so extroverted, fashionable and creative, especially their hair styles. Big bushy beards, undercuts and cool clothes could be seen everywhere. A Live-DJ joined the event – and he even seemed to be his own best dancing partner – he didn’t care about be the only person to dance to his music. Awesome! 
Back to the works. You could find everything, from stencils with political statements, graffiti art to oil and watercolor paintings, which showed beautiful landscapes or young women. I could even recognize some of the artists. Those were the ones who showed their works on the galeries of Berlin’s streets and walls, 24/7 for free. One could also buy some of the printings, although they were quite overpriced, but, however, they were given a personal touch by the artist’s signature.
After that, we ate a pulled pork burger, which was so delicious! I have to admit that Berlin is a really artistic city. Nevertheless, I hope the next Graphic Days will get more space to show more beautiful art works.
