Must-Hear – Newcomer aus Zürich: Country/Folk im 60s-Style von der Band “Anaheim” !!! (+English version)

Am 3.2. spielte die liebenswerte Band Anaheim aus der Schweiz in einem kleinen Café in Leipzig. Die Band besteht aus drei Mitgliedern: Caro ist zuständig fürs Banjo und für die Backing-Vocals, Jessica spielt abwechselnd Gitarre und Banjo und gibt den Hauptgesang und ein sehr stiller, junger Mann bediente das sogenannte Paddle-Steel (ein typisches Zupfinstrument der Countrymusik).
Auf ihrer Internetseite ordnete die Band ihre Musik dem Genre Country/Folk zu. Dazu sollte man allerdings erwähnen, dass die Melancholie der Songs und vor allem der raue Gesang sehr an den Stil der 60er erinnern.
Anaheim treten am 6.2. in Berlin im Tiefgrund auf.
Alles in allem sind Anaheim eine sehr sehr sehenswerte Newcomerband, welche ein wundervolles, melancholisches Comeback des Country zelebrieren.

On February 3rd this lovely band from Switzerland played in a little cafe in Leipzig. The band consists of three people: Caro is responsible for the banjo and the backing vocals, Jessica is alternately playing the Guitar and the banjo, she also does the main vocals. And a very quiet young man plays the paddle steel (which is a very common plucked instrument for country music).
On their internet page the band describes their genre as belonging to folk/country music. At this I probably should say that the melancholy in the songs and particularly the rough vocals remind me of the 60s.
Anaheim will be on stage on the Tiefgrund in Berlin on February 6th.
All in all Anaheim are a very very worth to see new comer band which gives us a wonderful melancholic comeback of country music.
