Beauty Showdown | Maybelline Baby Skin vs. Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer (+English version)

mit dem heutigen Artikel möchte ich mit euch herausfinden, welcher Kandidat der momentan wohl gehyptesten Gesichts-Primer aus dem Drogeriebereich wohl besser performt. Für die, die sich momentan noch an die hohe Make-Up-Kunst herantasten: Ein Primer ist Teil der Grundierung und soll die Haut ebenmäßiger machen, um diese für den Auftrag des Make-Ups vorzubereiten.
Kandidat 1 Baby Skin Primer by Maybelline
Kandidat Nummer 1 ist eine relativ neue Erscheinung aus dem Hause Maybelline namens „Baby Skin“. Es handelt sich um ein angebliches Duplikat des berühmten und beliebten „POREfessional“ Primer der Marke „Benefit“ und DAS wollte ich mir keineswegs entgehen lassen.
Die kleine Tube hat einen Inhalt von 22ml und kann alleine als auch als Basis für das Make-Up benutzt werden.
Von der Konsistenz ist es in keinem Fall wie die von Porefessional. Es ist sehr silikonlastig und durchsichtig und zudem geruchsneutral. Der Primer legt sich federleicht auf die Haut und macht sie optisch und fühlbar geschmeidig.
Ich empfehle aber eine sehr kleine Menge zu benutzen, wenn sie unter die Grundierung soll, da das Make-Up sonst droht zu verrutschen.
Alles in allem hält es, was es verspricht. Es lässt die Poren winzig wirken, wenn nicht sogar fast ganz verschwinden und macht die Haut geschmeidig zart. Der Preis beträgt stolze 9-10€ und ist für das, was er tut, für meinen Geschmack etwas zu teuer.
Kandidat 2 Rimmel London „Fix & Perfect Pro” Primer
Kommen wir nun zum 2. Kandidaten: Rimmel London’s “Fix & Perfect Pro“ Primer
Dieser Primer verspricht eine geschützte, mattierte, geschmeidige und strahlende Haut. Im ersten Moment erinnert er an eine Feuchtigkeitspflege wegen seines Geruchs und seiner Farbe. Aufgetragen blendet er sich perfekt in die Haut ein und das Finish lässt sich wirklich sehen.
Mit diesem Primer als Basis hielt mein Make-Up den ganzen Tag über.
Mit ca. 7€ ist er auch etwas preiswerter als der Primer von Maybelline, performt aber ein Stück besser als er. Das einzige Manko ist der starke Geruch nach Crème. Ich persönlich mag das nicht so, vor allem wenn man bedenkt, dass die Baby Skin von Maybelline komplett geruchlos ist.
Dennoch muss ich sagen, dass ich eher zum Fix & Perfect Pro von Rimmel tendieren muss, weil er sich besser der Haut anpasst.
Der Gewinner des Beauty Showdowns dieser Woche ist mit Sicherheit die günstigere Version:

Hello my fellow beauty lovers,
Today’s candidates for our beauty showdown are two primers which you can buy in drugstores. I want to find out which of the two are really worth the hype. For those amongst you guys who are still new to the high art of applying your makeup correctly and in a professional way: A primer is an important part of the foundation which is supposed to make the skin more even and smoother in order to prepare it for the actual makeup.
Candidate Nr. 1: Maybelline New York’s “Baby Skin”
It’s supposed to be a dupe of Benefit’s popular primer “Porefessional”, which is why I bought it in the first place. The small tube contains 22ml and can be used on its own as well as a base for your makeup.
The consistency and color is not at all comparable to the one from Benefit. It is silicon-based as well as colorless and doesn’t have a smell. The good thing is definitely the feeling of it on your skin. You can feel and see your skin looking immensely smoother after applying it on to your face.
My personal tip for you guys: If you decide to use it as a base, use only a teenzy tiny bit because it can make your make up slip off your face.
All in all it does what it promises. It makes your pores appear tiny, if not non-existent and smoothes your skin visibly. However, it is kind of expensive for a drugstore primer. It retails for nearly 10€, which doesn’t entirely justify the performance.
The second candidate of the day is Rimmel London’s “Fix & Perfect Pro”-Primer.
This bad boy promises you a protected, mattified, smooth and glowy skin. It does remind you of a moisturizer due to texture and odour but after applying it, it blends seamlessly into your skin. The finish is really good. It serves good as a base as well as on its own. It retails for 7€, which means it’s slightly cheaper than the previous one but it also performs better than the “Baby Skin” primer. The only thing that’s really bothering me is the intense smell. I personally don’t need a primer to smell so intensively especially when the one from Maybelline is completely unscented.
But despite this minor setback I still prefer the “Fix & Perfect Pro” Primer.
It does what it promises without being overly overpriced.
